When I was growing up in the Sunshine State my skater/surfer/rat pack judged by the rule of stoner and jew. When I uttered "kosher" I had no idea of its origins. Thankfully we used it in the right context. Fake vs. Genuine. Something tells me "kosher" is stronger even than "authentic." Like, you know, the real thing.
